Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Primary School Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring all areas of the school are hygienic, well-organized, and presentable. Your efforts will directly contribute to a positive learning atmosphere by providing a spotless and healthy space for everyone. 4pm onwards you will be a key holder.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of classrooms, hallways, restrooms, cafeterias, offices, and other school facilities using appropriate cleaning equipment and supplies
- Maintain high standards of hygiene by disinfecting surfaces, fixtures, and shared equipment regularly
- Empty trash bins and manage waste disposal in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Restock cleaning supplies and ensure cleaning tools are properly maintained and stored
- Follow health and safety protocols to prevent accidents and ensure a safe environment for students and staff
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to the appropriate personnel
- Adhere to established cleaning schedules and procedures to ensure consistent cleanliness throughout the school day
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial cleaning or janitorial work, preferably within educational or similar environments
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, bending, lifting, and moving cleaning equipment
- Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, including the use of cleaning chemicals and equipment
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Good understanding of health and safety regulations related to cleaning practices
- Nice-to-have: prior janitorial experience in a school setting or similar environment
