What are we looking for?
We're looking for a Hospitality Supervisor to lead teams across our hotel, conference, events and Festival operations. From weddings and banquets to international conferences and the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, no two days are the same.
The Role
Supported by our Hospitality Managers, you will oversee the day-to-day delivery of hospitality operations across your assigned areas. You will lead and support team members, ensuring high service standards, effective staffing and an exceptional guest experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting and motivating team members to deliver outstanding service and memorable guest experiences.
- Supervising day-to-day hospitality, food and beverage, conference, and event operations to ensure smooth service delivery.
- Assisting with staffing coordination and team deployment to meet operational requirements.
- Providing on-the-job coaching, guidance, and support to team members, helping maintain high performance standards.
- Responding to guest feedback and resolving issues promptly, professionally, and efficiently.
- Supporting the delivery of major conferences, weddings, Festival operations, and special events.
- Assisting with stock control, labour management, and monitoring operational performance.
- Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety, Food Safety, Fire Safety, and Licensing requirements at all times.
- Promoting continuous improvement, high service standards, and a positive team culture.
- Acting as a role model on shift, leading by example and providing hands-on operational support where required.
What We Offer
- A salary of £30,500 per annum, working around 42.5 hours a week

- Experience in hospitality, hotel, food and beverage, conference, or events operations.

- Good commercial awareness, with experience supporting operational performance and cost control.

Who are we?
Ten Hill Place is a stylish 129 bedroom hotel, part of Surgeons Quarter in Edinburgh.
Surgeons Quarter is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and has developed its property and facilities to create an integrated hotel, conferencing and events facility within the College campus. The facilities lend themselves to a variety of activities and events including conferences, professional meetings, weddings, exhibitions and social events. Surgeons Quarter manage a large food and beverage operation, which includes management of venue bars, private banqueting and a high street café.
Surgeons Quarter, in conjunction with SpaceUK, operate one of the largest Edinburgh Festival Fringe venues and additionally SQ is an extensive provider of Scottish Evenings.
