The Role
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in providing high-quality care and support to children and young people while also providing guidance and leadership to the residential support team.
Alongside building positive relationships with children and young people and providing consistent care, emotional support and safeguarding, you will support the effective day-to-day running of the home.
You will lead by example, support Residential Support Workers in their practice, contribute to care planning and risk management, and help ensure that high standards of care, safeguarding and professional practice are maintained throughout each shift.
You will support children and young people with education, hobbies, life skills and independence while helping to create a safe, nurturing and structured home environment.
You will play a key role in promoting positive outcomes, encouraging personal development and helping young people reach their full potential.
The role includes long-day shifts, sleep-ins, evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Essential Requirements
- Due to the nature of this role, you must be a driver, with either access to your own car or the ability to drive a manual pool car. Your driving licence must have fewer than 6 points in order to drive the pool car.
- A Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or Children's Residential Care, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- At least 6 months' experience working within a senior children's residential care role.
Shift Pattern
We operate a 3-3-1 rolling rota, providing consistency and allowing staff to plan their work-life balance well in advance.

The cycle then repeats.
This equates to approximately 125 shifts per year, providing a predictable and structured working pattern.
Additional shifts are regularly available for team members who wish to increase their earnings.
DBS Requirement
Successful applicants must have an Enhanced DBS Check.
Desirable Requirements
- An Enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service.
- Previous experience in a Senior Residential Support Worker.
- Experience supporting and mentoring less experienced members of staff.

Salary & Benefits
£15.00 per hour
Approximately £30,937.50 per annum based on 125 shifts per year
£60 Sleep-In Allowance
£7,500 per annum based on 125 sleep-ins per year
Potential scheduled annual earnings: approximately £38,437.50 including sleep-in allowances.
Annual figures are based on a full-time working pattern of 125 shifts and 125 sleep-ins per year. Additional earnings may be available through overtime and additional shifts.
