About Us
Qing Fibre is a London-based design and textile dye studio founded in 2016. We specialise in vibrant, hand-dyed yarns and patterns that push the boundaries of traditional knitwear. We are a small, fast-paced creative team that values innovation, beautiful colours, and the "handmade" spirit.
The Role
We are looking for a creative Studio Assistant who is passionate about the world of knitting and crochet. You will be the bridge between our creative vision, our operations, and our community.
You will be on hand to help with pattern support, involved in our creative brainstorms, and hands-on to support our studio running like clockwork. This is a varied role encompassing a range of tasks so we are looking for a proactive "self-starter" who can interpret a complex knitting pattern one hour and edit a TikTok/Reel the next all the while ensuring no task gets left behind.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer & Pattern Support
- Act as the first point of contact for our customers, answering technical questions regarding knitting/crochet patterns and yarn substitutions.
- Liaise with our collaborators, including designers, affiliates, and sample knitters, ensuring they have everything they need for successful launches.
- Maintain a deep understanding of the indie yarn industry, current trends, and pattern designers to help inform our creative decisions.
2. Content & Marketing
- Collaborate with the creative team to brainstorm and execute marketing campaigns.
- Content Creation: Filming and editing high-quality short-form video content (Reels/TikToks) for new product launches.
- Assist in the publication of marketing materials and newsletters.
3. Studio Operations
- Monitor online shop orders and coordinate with our fulfilment team.
- Resolve stock discrepancies and ensure the online shop inventory is accurate.
- Help keep the studio organised, ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and a nice work environment.
Requirements & Skills
- Intermediate to Advanced Maker: You must be able to read and understand complex knitting/crochet patterns and understand yarn construction.
- Industry Savvy: You have an active interest in the indie dyer community.
- Video editing: Experience with video editing (CapCut, InShot, or Premiere) is a major plus.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills. You can be professional with wholesale clients and warm/helpful with customers.
- Proactive Mindset: You are someone who sees a problem and naturally looks for solutions. We value initiative over micro-management.
- Organised: You can stay calm and methodical while tracking multiple tasks across different departments.
- Detail Oriented: You have an eye for detail, ensuring everything is correct for our product launches and avoiding any customer disappointment.
- Creativity: Creativity is at the core of what we do, and we want all our team members to enjoy being a part of that.
Why Join Us? You will be a vital part of a small, influential creative team. This role offers the scope to grow as the business expands. Salary is competitive and determined by your specific experience and skill set.
To Apply Please send your CV and a cover letter. We value personality as much as experience—tell us about your favourite recent project or what inspires you!
