We are looking for a Structure Design Engineer to join our aerospace engineering team, supporting key programs. You will play a critical role in supporting daily in-service repairs, managing structural modifications through key decision gates, and ensuring all deliverables comply with Airbus Design Organization Approval (DOA) requirements, configuration control standards, and export control regulations. The role also involves close collaboration with offshore engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure high-quality, timely, and compliant engineering outputs. Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive Wing Engineering support as part of the overall Wing Design Organization in accordance with Airbus standards and procedures.
- Deliver reactive engineering support for A400M daily in-service repairs, ensuring compliance with Airbus DOA requirements and export control regulations.
- Lead and support the structural design and development of primary aerospace wing components in line with Airbus processes, methods, and standards.
- Manage modification activities through key Decision Gates (DG), including Preliminary Design Review (PDR) and Critical Design Review (CDR).
- Collaborate closely with offshore engineering teams, ensuring clear technical communication, timely guidance, and smooth execution of deliverables.
- Review and validate engineering outputs including 3D models, 2D drawings, and Bill of Material, ensuring alignment with technical and project requirements.
- Provide technical expertise on structures, materials, stress sizing, manufacturing considerations, and certification constraints.
- Support broader design initiatives such as process improvements, cost reduction activities, and digital continuity enhancements.
- Drive issue resolution by interfacing with cross-functional teams including stress, manufacturing, quality, and configuration management.
- Ensure adherence to Airbus DMU, PLM, and configuration control processes throughout the design lifecycle.
- Prepare and present engineering reviews across various maturity phases, including PDR, CDR, and DFM reviews.
- Manage engineering data, documentation, and deliverables in compliance with required quality, traceability, and configuration management standards.
Requirements
- BE / BTech / MTech / MS or equivalent degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5–10 years of hands-on experience in aerospace structural design.
- Proven experience working on Airbus aircraft programs such as A320, A330, A350, A380, A400M, or similar.
- Strong understanding of aerospace design principles and airworthiness requirements.
- Solid knowledge of metallic and composite design principles.
- Good working knowledge of Airbus design processes and procedures, including RSDP, SIDP, AP, ABD, AIPI, AIPS, and related standards.
- Experience using Airbus Supply tools and platforms such as DocMaster, Airnavx, and related systems.
- Prior Airbus Design Signatory experience, including Checker/Approver responsibilities.
- Valid Airbus training certifications in VPM and PASS SSI.
- Experience in DMU reviews, Interface Point Management, and working within multi-partner engineering environments.
- Knowledge of MOD, DQN, and RDR processes.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, structural integration, and certification-driven design constraints.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively across distributed and cross-functional engineering teams.
