Overview
We are seeking a professional HGV Driver Class 2 to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various locations. This role requires a valid Class 2 licence, experience in commercial driving, and a strong commitment to safety and punctuality. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work within a dynamic environment, supporting the timely delivery of products to our clients.
Duties
- Operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles in accordance with road safety regulations
- Deliver goods to designated locations efficiently and on schedule
- Ensure all cargo is secured properly during transit
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to maintain safety standards
- Complete all necessary paperwork accurately, including delivery notes and logs
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies during driving operations
- Assist with loading and unloading goods when required
- Maintain a clean and well-maintained vehicle at all times
Skills
- Valid Class 2 (Category C) driving licence with relevant experience in commercial driving
- Proven delivery driver experience, preferably with flatbed vehicles
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for cargo securement
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes effectively
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating reliability and professionalism at all times
- Physical fitness to handle loading/unloading tasks and long hours on the road
Pay: £12.71-£14.50 per hour
