Hours: 37.5 Hours per Week, Monday to Friday
Rate: £18.30 per hour
About the Role
We are looking for a skilled Handyperson to join a Capital Works team, supporting the completion of residential properties following major refurbishment and improvement works.
This hands-on role involves carrying out a variety of finishing and remedial tasks to ensure residents can return to homes that are safe, clean and ready for occupation. You'll work alongside a professional Capital Works team across a range of occupied and void properties.
What You'll Be Doing
- Carry out general handyman and finishing works following major refurbishment projects
- Complete minor carpentry, plumbing and decorating repairs where required
- Fit fixtures and fittings including shelves, door furniture, toilet seats and accessories
- Carry out basic making-good works including filling, patch repairs and silicone sealing
- Undertake minor repairs to walls, doors, skirting boards and flooring
- Assist in preparing properties for handover to residents
- Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timescales
- Work safely in accordance with Health & Safety procedures
- Maintain excellent customer service when working in occupied homes
- Use a PDA to receive and complete work orders
- Keep the company vehicle and equipment clean, safe and secure
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous experience working as a Handyperson, Multi-Trader or Property Maintenance Operative
- Good all-round maintenance skills across a variety of trades
- Experience carrying out finishing works within domestic properties
- Ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Own hand tools
- Experience using a PDA or mobile job management system
Desirable
- Experience working within social housing or local authority maintenance
- Basic skills in carpentry, plumbing, decorating and general building repairs
- Health & Safety awareness
- CSCS Card (if held)
