About Us
Impact Academies is a fast-growing international IT academy for children aged 5–17, helping them build skills in coding, robotics, game development, and digital creativity. Our Chelmsford branch is expanding, and we're looking for an inspiring, energetic tutor to bring this opportunity to children in our local area.
Role Overview
We're seeking a passionate, energetic tutor to lead fun, engaging sessions for young learners aged 5–17, teaching coding, robotics, and digital skills using our curriculum.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver group or 1:1 sessions in programming, game development, robotics, or digital skills
- Monitor and support student progress
- Encourage curiosity, creativity, and confidence in all learners
- Communicate with parents regarding progress
- Keep accurate records of sessions delivered
Skills & tools (any of the following are a plus — full training provided):
Scratch, ScratchJR, Blockly, Unity3D + C#, Python (including Minecraft programming), App Inventor, Android Studio, Xcode, Java, Swift, PHP, JavaScript, robotics kits (Little Bits, Tynker, Dash and Dot), HTML/CSS, Wix/WordPress, Canva, Adobe Animate
The ideal candidate is:
- Energetic, confident, and great with children
- Able to explain concepts clearly to young learners
- Patient, adaptable, and organised
- Able to commit to weekly session timings on a regular basis
- Experience in teaching/tutoring is advantageous but not essential — full training provided
Working pattern:
- Weekly recurring session slots, agreed in advance
- After school and weekend session
- Coding camps during half term
Pay: £14.00 - £18.00 per hour
