About the role
Classic Quartz Stone is looking for a reliable Delivery Driver to join our transport team. You'll be delivering quartz and natural stone slabs to fabricators, trade customers and sites across the UK, driving vehicles up to 18 tonne.
This is a hands-on role. As well as driving, you'll be responsible for the safe loading, securing and unloading of stone products, and for representing us professionally at every delivery.
Because of the distances involved on some routes, this role includes overnight stays away from base — typically up to twice a week, depending on the run. You'll sleep in the vehicle's bunk, and we provide a meal allowance for overnight stays.
What you'll be doing
- Driving vehicles up to 18T on multi-drop and trunking routes across the UK
- Safe loading, strapping and securing of stone slabs and A-frames
- Assisting with unloading at customer premises and sites
- Completing daily walkaround checks, defect reports and tachograph records
- Keeping to delivery schedules and communicating with the transport office on delays
- Delivering a professional, courteous service to trade and retail customers
- Complying with all drivers' hours, WTD and load security regulations
- Any other ad-hoc duties as and when required
What we're looking for

- Clean or near-clean licence (no more than 6 points, no DR/DD endorsements)
- Willingness to stay away overnight up to twice a week and sleep in the vehicle bunk
- Good spoken English and a customer-facing manner
- Physically fit — the role involves manual handling of heavy, awkward loads
- Available to start immediately
Desirable
- 2+ years' experience in the quartz, stone, granite, marble or construction materials sector
- Experience handling slabs and using A-frame, ratchet straps and slab racking systems
- Forklift / counterbalance licence
- Knowledge of local delivery routes
What we offer
- £32,000 – £34,000 per annum
- Up to £30 meal allowance per overnight stay
