Team: HQ / Tech
Type: Full-time / 37.5 Hours Per Week
Summary:
At Minerva Virtual Academy (minervavirtual.com), we are looking for a Senior Developer to join our growing tech team. In this role, you will completely own the "how" of our technology platform, dictating the architecture, tech stack selections, code quality, and technical methodology. You will act as the technical deputy to our CTO, while serving as the delivery counterpart to the Head of Product & Technology to drive execution against our product roadmap.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Ownership & Architecture: Own execution against the roadmap and oversee the system architecture. Ensure everything built is of outstanding quality and set strict technical standards for the rest of the engineering team to follow.
Team Leadership & Management: Act as the CTO’s technical deputy by providing technical guidance, support, and mentorship across the development team. You will directly line-manage our Junior Technician upon joining and ensure effective software change management, fixes, and prompt problem resolution.
Delivery & Code Quality: Lead constructive code reviews to provide feedback, mitigate bugs, and actively grow the capabilities of your team.
Interim Execution: Take full ownership of frontline day-to-day tickets and technical projects, ensuring the tech team is hitting key deliverables and KPIs
Stakeholder Alignment: Act as the translation layer between complex engineering concepts and the business. You must clearly communicate technical trade-offs and risks to non-technical stakeholders, including the Head of Product & Technology, entirely free of jargon.
Key Skills & Attributes:
Agency & Problem Solving: Possess exceptional problem-solving skills paired with a proactive, diligent approach. You have high individual agency; you don't need step-by-step instructions for small tasks and naturally present thoughtful solutions alongside identified problems.
Composure Under Pressure: Maintain a calm, clear-headed demeanour, showing the ability to take a beat and think logically when operating under high-pressure conditions.
Accountability & Trust: Highly self-motivated, professional, mature, and fully capable of operating independently with total ownership over technical outcomes.
Growth Mindset: Ambitious and hungry for continuous development, both for your personal career and for the technical capabilities of the wider team.
Technical Requirements
Essential skills:
Extensive experience in Fullstack development.
Strong proficiency writing C# and JSON.
Deep foundational knowledge of SQL.
Practical experience building within Azure environments.
Confident executing third-party API integrations (including REST, webhooks, and complex authentication flows).
