Insight Global are seeking a Commissioning Engineer on behalf of a global leader in energy management and industrial automation technologies.
This position requires field-based travel to customer sites 5 days per week across Scotland for a permanent opportunity.In this role, you will be responsible for installing, testing, commissioning, and maintaining electrical power equipment across a range of customer sites.
You will act as a technical expert, carrying out diagnostics, fault-finding activities, electrical testing, and supporting project delivery to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently. The role also involves collaborating with project managers, overseeing subcontractors where required, and providing customers with recommendations to improve the performance and reliability of their electrical infrastructure. Must-Have Requirements Include:
- Proven commissioning experience within electrical power systems
- Hands-on experience working with both LV and HV switchgear
- Experience operating across electrical systems ranging from 415V to 33kV
- Strong understanding of Current Transformers (CTs) and Voltage Transformers (VTs)
- Knowledge of Overcurrent & Earth Fault (OC/EF) protection schemes
- Experience with Bus Zone Protection systems
- Familiarity with electromechanical and solid-state relays
- Ability to diagnose faults, perform testing, and commission electrical equipment safely and effectively
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively to customer sites
