Bodymatters is looking for one or two experienced bodyshop professionals who would like to progress into vehicle damage assessment and estimating.
This role would suit someone from a panel, MET or paint background, ideally panel, who understands vehicle repair and wants to move into a technical, computer-based role.
Previous VDA or estimating experience is not essential. Full training and support will be provided.
The role
You will learn how to:
- Assess accident damage
- Produce accurate repair estimates
- Use estimating and manufacturer repair systems
- Identify repair methods and replacement parts
- Photograph and document vehicle damage
- Prepare supporting evidence for insurers and engineers
- Deal with supplementary damage and estimate variations
- Communicate with customers, technicians, suppliers and insurers
- Follow repairs through from initial assessment to completion
The person we are looking for
You should have:
- Experience within a bodyshop environment
- A background in panel, MET or paint
- A good understanding of how vehicles are repaired
- Good computer and tablet skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Clear written and verbal communication
- A willingness to learn and develop
- The ability to work accurately and follow processes
- A professional and organised approach
This is not simply an office position. It is a technical role that requires practical bodyshop knowledge, commercial awareness and the ability to document repairs correctly.
