Liquid Room is a fast-paced, high-energy nightlife venue dedicated to delivering exceptional customer experiences, outstanding entertainment, and a safe, welcoming environment for our guests. We are seeking an experienced and motivated General Manager to lead our operations, drive performance, and maintain the highest standards across all areas of the business.
The Role
As General Manager, you will have overall responsibility for the successful day-to-day operation of the venue. You will lead and develop the management and bar teams, oversee customer service standards, ensure compliance with licensing and health & safety regulations, and drive commercial performance.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone with strong nightclub, hospitality, or late-night venue management experience who thrives in a busy environment. Hours will be worked on a rota basis according to the operational needs of the business, including evenings, weekends, and late nights.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of venue operations during trading and non-trading hours.
- Lead, motivate, and develop management, bar, security, and support teams.
- Recruit, train, and retain high-performing staff.
- Drive sales and profitability while maintaining brand standards
- Ensure excellent customer service and guest satisfaction.
- Monitor and manage staffing levels, rotas, and labour costs.
- Maintain compliance with licensing laws, health & safety requirements, and venue policies.
- Work closely with security teams to ensure a safe environment for customers and staff.
- Manage stock control, ordering, wastage, and supplier relationships.
- Monitor sales performance and implement strategies to increase revenue.
- Handle customer feedback and resolve issues professionally.
- Ensure the venue is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Work with promoters, DJs, and event partners to deliver successful events.
- Produce operational reports and communicate performance to senior management.
Requirements
Essential
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in management within a nightclub, late-night venue or bar.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Confident using digital processes and software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proven ability to manage high-volume operations.
- Good understanding of licensing regulations and health & safety requirements.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, bank holidays, and late-night shifts.
Desirable
- Personal Licence Holder.
- Experience managing security teams and event operations.
- Knowledge of stock management and financial controls.
- First Aid qualification.
