Job Summary
We are looking for a bookkeeper to join our dynamic and growing team in Sutton-In-Ashfield. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience as a bookkeeper in practice and will have a willingness to continually learn and develop their skills.

The Role:
- Keep our client’s bookkeeping up to date using cloud software and spreadsheets.
- Take responsibility for preparing and filing VAT returns in accordance with deadlines.
- Working with clients to advise them of upcoming VAT liabilities or refunds and dealing with bookkeeping related queries.
- Taking responsibility for preparing and filing monthly CIS returns as they fall due.
- Covering reception to manage incoming calls and welcoming clients into the office as they visit.
- Working as a team with colleagues to ensure a seamless client experience.
Essential Criteria:
- Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and accounting practices.
- A focussed, detail orientated, individual with good communications skills.
- A strong ability to identify and solve problems in a time-efficient manner.
- ·At least 2 years’ experience working as a bookkeeper within an accountancy practice.
- Experience using QuickBooks, Xero, SAGE online, Dext and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Experience with preparing and filing CIS returns.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience with complex VAT entries such as partial exemption and the domestic reverse charge.
- Experience with preparing and filing MTD IT quarterly submissions.
- Experience with TaxCalc.
The right candidate may also benefit from AAT study support and upward progression within the firm.
The role is for a minimum of 4 days per week, although we will also consider full-time applicants.
Pay: £25,600.00-£27,000.00 per year
