Job Overview
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Volunteer Market Stall Assistants to support the smooth operation of our local market stalls. Responsibilities
- Welcome customers and provide friendly assistance at the market stalls
- Support stallholders with setting up and packing down displays
- Manage cash registers and handle sales transactions accurately
- Keep the stall area tidy and well-stocked throughout trading hours
- Provide information about products or services to customers as needed
- Assist with administrative duties such as recording sales or updating stock lists using basic IT tools
- Ensure health and safety guidelines are followed at all times
- Support event organisation by helping with signage, promotional materials, or crowd management when required
Qualifications
- Previous experience in customer service or retail is advantageous but not essential
- Basic IT skills, including familiarity with simple data entry or point-of-sale systems
- Administrative experience is desirable to assist with record keeping and organisational tasks
- Friendly, approachable manner with excellent communication skills
- Organised and reliable with the ability to work effectively within a team
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to different roles as needed
- Ability to commit to scheduled shifts during market days
