As a first point of contact for patients and to support the Optometrist, Lab Technician and Dispensing Optician in the provision of optical services. We have 2 options: 1 Full time Monday to Saturday with an agreed day off during the week or 2 part time positions and cover for holidays and sickness. Due to more clinics, we are looking for a friendly, hard working and highly organised individual to join our team at our practices that is looking for a long term position.
Main Duties/Key Tasks - Reception:
- Receive, welcome and advise patients
- Take responsibility of the reception
- Be able to work well at busy times and in fast pace clinics
- Book and alter patient appointments
- Send, receive and action messages
- Answer telephone enquiries from patients, staff and other external agencies
- Use the Practice's computer system with regards to patient information, appointments and practice information.
- Action any emails
- Contribute to the Reception team and provide an effective day to day Reception service
- Help maintain the Glazing Laboratory
- Maintain patient's computer and paper record systems
- Provide clerical and administrative support to other staff members
- Receive and record all payments
- Stock control to include stock take, ordering of supplies
- Advising patients on collection of spectacles, contact lenses, recalls
- Submitting and following of invoices
General administrative duties:
- Maintain supplies of certain items of stationery and supplies
- Receive and sort incoming and outgoing mail
- Deal with enquiries to and from other agencies
Full Training is given. There is an opportunity for the right candidate to progress within our business to become an Optical Assistant with an online course.
