Role Overview:
As a Receptionist at Retreat East, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, setting the tone for their visit with warmth, professionalism, and efficiency. You will play a key role in delivering exceptional service, ensuring every guest feels welcomed and cared for from arrival to departure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome guests with a friendly and professional demeanour.
- Handle check-ins and check-outs efficiently using our booking system (MEWS)
- Provide detailed information about Retreat East’s offerings, including accommodation, restaurant, spa, and events.
- Answer phone calls and emails promptly, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.
- Liaise with housekeeping, restaurant, and spa teams to ensure seamless guest service.
- Manage bookings for spa treatments, dining, and other on-site activities using hotel platforms (ResDiary, Mews & Trybe).
- Maintain accurate records of bookings, payments, and guest preferences.
- Process payments and bookings as required.
- Assist with managing the reception area, ensuring it remains tidy and welcoming.
- Promote Retreat East’s services and amenities to guests, including spa packages, events, and farm shop items.
- Encourage guest participation in on-site experiences to enhance their stay.
Skills & Attributes:
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Proactive and solution-oriented, capable of handling guest concerns with tact and efficiency.
- Familiarity with booking or spa systems (training can be provided).
- A genuine passion for hospitality and sustainability.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a similar role within hospitality is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other basic computer applications.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
