A wonderful opportunity has arisen for an organised and positive individual, with a 'can-do' attitude to join our team at an incredibly exciting time. We are relocating to refurbished premises with a brand new, purpose built under 3 unit and refurbished pre-school room. The successful candidate will be included in the planning of the new nursery rooms, that are guided by elements of Reggio Emilia, Maria Montessori, Steiner/Waldorf and Forest School.
We are seeking a Room Manager to work in our 17 place pre-school room (in a homely 34 place day nursery). Directly supervising 2 staff members, we are seeking a keen individual who is able to provide consistent high standards and quality of care to the children and families who attend. Our full time staff work 4 days per week (38.75 hours) to ensure work-life balance. This position is all year around - 48 weeks per year with familiy-friendly shut-downs (of approximately 10 days) at Christmas, Easter and August.
We are a small staff team who are passionate about ensuring our children receive wonderful opportunities both inside and outside the nursery. We go out frequently to the shops, walks and the the library. We also arrange staff outings throughout the year.
This role would also suit someone who is currently working as a deputy room leader, with a strong and proven track record and a minimum of 2 years experience deputising, who is looking to progress in their early years career. Suitable candidates must have GCSE English (or equivilent key skills) and a minimum of Level 3 NVQ/ Diploma in Early Years.
Experience:
- Proven experience in a room manager or as a deputy room manager in the Early Years sector.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
