Senior Care Assistant (Days)
Location: The Convent, 144 Southcoates Lane, Hull HU9 3AJ
Hours: 39 hours per week (3 days over a 7 day rota)

Essential Requirements (Please Apply Only If You Meet These)
- Female applicants only (Occupational Requirement – personal care)
- Proven experience in residential care for older people
- Experience leading or supervising care staff
- Minimum Level 3/4 Health & Social Care qualification (or willingness to work towards)
- Ability to administer medication and deliver person-centred care
- Strong communication and IT skills
- Right to work in the UK (subject to DBS check and references)
About the Role
The Convent at Southcoates Lane, provides high-quality care and support to the Religious Sisters. This role focuses on enhancing quality of life, promoting independence, and delivering compassionate, person-centred care within a convent setting.
You will take responsibility for the daily organisation of care delivery while acting as a positive role model within the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Sisters with daily living activities (personal care, dressing, mobility)
- Administer medication safely and accurately
- Lead, supervise, and support care staff
- Develop and implement individual care plans
- Maintain accurate care records and monitor wellbeing
- Communicate effectively to ensure continuity of care
- Promote dignity, independence, and community engagement
Working Pattern
- 36 hours per week, day shifts, working 3 days over a 7 day rota
- Must be flexible to cover occasional nights
- Participation in on-call duties required
