Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our healthcare team in a care home setting, caring for the elderly. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality nursing care to patients, ensuring their comfort and wellbeing throughout their treatment journey.
Duties
- Deliver comprehensive patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing interventions.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, documenting observations and changes in condition.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualised care plans.
- Educate patients and their families about health management, medication administration, and post-treatment care.
- Monitor vital signs and perform routine checks to assess patient health status.
- Provide emotional support to patients and families during challenging times.
- Uphold infection control standards and ensure a safe environment for patients.
Experience
- A valid nursing qualification with current registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Proven experience in a clinical setting is preferred but not essential for newly qualified nurses.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to inform patient assessments and care decisions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with patients from diverse backgrounds.
- A commitment to continuous professional development and staying updated with best practices in nursing care.
Responsibilities and duties of the job
- Ensure that service users are at the heart of the care delivery and their wishes and preferences enhance their wellbeing
- Undertake the care planning activities for service users to meet changing physical, psychological and social needs, taking into consideration privacy, dignity, personal choice and informed consent
- Ensure care plans are developed in collaboration with service users, their families and friends (where appropriate) and members of the multidisciplinary team
- Undertake all aspects of medicine management in line with legal, professional and regulatory requirements
- Be responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of those individuals supported by the service

Hours will be worked over 7 days, mainly over Monday-Friday but some weekend work will be required.
