Salary
- Senior Support Worker duties: £12.95 per hour, plus £1.56 holiday pay (12.07%) = £14.51 per hour
- Care delivery: £12.71 per hour, plus £1.53 holiday pay (12.07%) = £14.24 per hour
- Enhanced weekend care delivery: £13.71 per hour, plus £1.66 holiday pay (12.07%) = £15.37 per hour
- £42.86 per day for participating in the Duty rota (Monday to Friday or weekend/Bank Holiday cover).
- Enhanced rates apply for all UK Bank Holidays.

About the Role
The Senior Support Worker is a key member of the care team, delivering exceptional person-centred care whilst supporting, mentoring and developing Support Workers across the service.
You will promote best practice, provide leadership within the community and work closely with the management team to ensure our clients receive safe, responsive and high-quality care.
This role combines direct care delivery with quality assurance, field supervision, mentoring and client support.
Flexible Working Hours
We understand everyone has different commitments, so we offer flexible shift patterns, including:
- Full-time and part-time opportunities
- 7:00am – 3:00pm shifts
- 2:00pm – 10:00pm shifts
- Full-day shifts between 7:00am and 10:00pm

- Has previous experience working in domiciliary care (essential).
- Has completed the Care Certificate and is committed to continuous professional development including NVQ 2 or 3.

Key Responsibilities
Care Delivery
You will:
- Deliver outstanding person-centred care.
- Promote independence, dignity and choice.
- Provide personal care and emotional support.
- Support clients with medication in accordance with company policies and procedures.
- Assist with mobility and moving and handling.
- Prepare meals and support nutrition and hydration.
- Complete light domestic duties where required.
- Escort clients to appointments and community activities.
- Accurately complete electronic care records following every visit.
- Report any changes in a client's health or wellbeing immediately.
- Work in accordance with each client's care and support plan.
Leadership Responsibilities
You will:
- Support, mentor and encourage Support Workers.
- Carry out spot checks and field observations.
- Complete medication competency assessments.
- Deliver practical field-based training and coaching.
- Promote safe working practices.
- Support the induction of new colleagues.
- Identify training and development needs.
- Demonstrate best practice and provide professional leadership.
- Encourage positive teamwork and effective communication.
- Complete duty responsivities as and when required.
Quality & Compliance
You will:
- Complete Care Plan reviews.
- Review and update Risk Assessments.
- Participate in client review meetings.
- Support introductions for new care packages.
- Monitor care standards within the community.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, complete and compliant.
- Identify concerns and escalate appropriately.
- Support safeguarding investigations where required.
- Promote continuous improvement across the service.
- Ensure all changes to care packages are communicated promptly to the Care Coordinator or management team.
Duty Responsibilities
When participating in the Duty rota, you will:
- Respond professionally to out-of-hours telephone calls.
- Coordinate emergency care cover where required.
- Escalate safeguarding concerns and serious incidents appropriately.
- Arrange emergency staffing cover or cover sickness as required.
- Provide support and guidance to care staff working in the community.
- Record all actions accurately and communicate effectively with the management team.
What We're Looking For
Essential
- Previous experience working in domiciliary care.
- Care Certificate completed.
- Full UK Driving Licence with access to your own vehicle.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Compassionate, professional and reliable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends and participate in the Duty rota.
- Good IT skills.
- Willingness to complete further qualifications, including NVQ Level 3 if not already achieved.
Desirable
- NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or working towards).
- Previous experience supervising or mentoring staff.
- Experience carrying out spot checks and competency assessments.
- Experience completing medication competency assessments.
- Good understanding of CQC Fundamental Standards.
- Knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act, Safeguarding, GDPR and Health & Safety legislation.
