Job Opportunity: Self-Employed Cabling Engineer
We are looking for applicants who live in Milton Keynes
Company: MJE Network Solutions Ltd is seeking a hard-working and reliable individual to join their small, dedicated team of self-employed engineers.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has experience or for someone who is looking to learn new skills and grow in the structured cabling industry. Full training will be provided.
Role Overview
Job Title: Cabling Engineer
Employment Type: Self-Employed
Location: Based in Milton Keynes (with occasional requirement to work further afield)
Key Requirements
- A good understanding of structured cabling and the ability to perform general structured cabling installation tasks.
- Experience in Cat5e/6/6a termination and testing.
- Ability to work with containment, racks, and cabinets.
- Knowledge and experience of setting up Fluke testers and the ability to fault-find and troubleshoot.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work environment.
- Consistently deliver work to a high standard.
Physical Requirements: This is a hands-on role that may involve physically demanding tasks.

Ideal Skills (Training Provided):
- CSCS / ECS / Trade-Specific Site H&S Card.
- IPAF / PASMA certification (preferable).
- City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Datacomms / Structured Cabling.
- Full UK driving license.
Personal Attributes:
- Motivated, reliable, and honest.
- Team player with the ability to work independently.
- Good communication and customer-facing skills.
- Willingness to undergo DBS and security checks.
