Maintenance Person – Experienced Tradesperson

We are a small 31-bed care home in Watton (IP25) looking for a reliable, experienced maintenance person — ideally a retired or semi-retired tradesperson who still takes pride in doing a proper job.
This is a key role in the home. You will be responsible for keeping the building safe, compliant, and well maintained.
This role IS for you if:
* You are a skilled tradesperson (plumbing, electrical, building, handyman)
* You enjoy practical, hands-on work
* You can work independently without constant supervision
* You are reliable, punctual, and take pride in your work
Key Duties
* General repairs and maintenance across the home
* Basic plumbing, carpentry, decorating, external estate upkeep
* Water temperature checks and shower head cleaning
* Fire safety checks (alarms, emergency lighting, etc.)
* Health & safety checks and record keeping
* Supporting contractors and site maintenance work
* Keeping the home safe and well maintained at all times

* £13.75 – £15.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Probation & Pay Review
This role includes a 6-month probation period.
After successful completion, there will be a formal review with potential pay increase based on performance, reliability, and contribution.
