This is a part-time position supporting the Back of House team across evenings and weekends. The role is essential to maintaining the high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organisation that Bigwigs Bakery is known for.
You will work closely with the night bakers and Kitchen Manager to keep the kitchen, shop, and welfare areas running smoothly, ensuring everything is clean, stocked, and ready for the following day.
Key Responsibilities:
This role sits at the heart of our end-of-day operations. Each shift you will close down the kitchen and shop to a high standard, ensuring the team arriving the next morning walks into a clean, stocked, and well-organised space.
Your key areas of focus will include:
- End of day cleaning of the shop floor, kitchen, and welfare areas
- Completing deep cleans and periodic tasks in line with our rolling cleaning rota
- Keeping external areas tidy and ensuring all waste is properly managed
- Restocking consumables and supplies to the correct stations
- Supporting the night bakers with washing up and general tidiness during your shift

We are looking for a reliable, hardworking individual who takes pride in maintaining a clean and well-organised environment. You will be someone who works well independently, follows process consistently, and understands the importance of hygiene standards in a food production setting.

- Reliability: Consistent attendance and punctuality across your contracted shifts
- Attention to Detail: Thorough approach to cleaning tasks with no shortcuts
- Food Safety Awareness: Understanding of basic hygiene standards in a kitchen environment
- Physical Stamina: Comfortable with physical tasks including mopping, lifting, and standing for extended periods
- Team Player: Able to work alongside bakers and kitchen staff in a calm, professional manner
- Initiative: Ability to manage a cleaning rota independently and flag any issues to the Kitchen Manager
Desirable Criteria:
- Previous experience in a kitchen porter or commercial cleaning role
- Basic food hygiene certificate (training can be provided)
