Job Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Cook / Culinary Instructor to join our Supported Learning Environment. Duties
- Prepare a variety of nutritious meals and snacks in accordance with dietary requirements and safety standards
- Lead engaging cooking sessions, demonstrating techniques and guiding participants through recipes
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are strictly followed during food preparation and service
- Assist participants in developing their culinary skills through personalised instruction and encouragement
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, including cleaning utensils, work surfaces, and equipment after each session
- Support the planning of menus that promote healthy eating habits and diverse cuisine options
- Monitor participants’ progress, providing constructive feedback to enhance their learning experience
- Collaborate with team members to create an inclusive, supportive atmosphere conducive to learning
Experience
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or culinary roles within a professional kitchen or restaurant environment
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in hygiene management
- Previous experience in teaching or instructing others in culinary skills is desirable but not essential
- Familiarity with meal preparation for diverse dietary needs and preferences
- Experience working with individuals requiring additional support or within educational settings is advantageous
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
