HGV Class 1 Driver – General Haulage & Amazon
We are a growing transport company looking to recruit a professional and reliable HGV Class 1 Driver to join our team.
The Role
The position involves general haulage work using curtain-side trailers throughout the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out collections and deliveries safely, efficiently, and on time while maintaining high standards of professionalism and customer service.
This role requires flexibility and a willingness to complete up to 4 nights out per week.
Responsibilities
- Carry out collections and deliveries in a safe and timely manner.
- Operate curtain-side trailers for general haulage work.
- Secure loads correctly and ensure compliance with all load restraint requirements.
- Complete vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.
- Maintain accurate records and comply with all drivers' hours and Working Time Directive regulations.
- Represent the company professionally when dealing with customers and the public.
- Keep the vehicle clean, tidy, and well maintained.
Requirements
- Valid HGV Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
- Minimum 1 year of HGV driving experience.
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card.
- Good understanding of load security and safe working practices.
- Strong time management skills with a commitment to punctuality.
- Reliable, professional, and able to work independently.
- Willingness to stay away from home for up to 4 nights per week.
