Professional Dancer – Classical Indian Dance
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Professional Dancer specialising in Classical Indian Dance to participate in cultural events, stage performances and artistic programmes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform professional Bharatanatyam and classical Indian dance at scheduled events and cultural programmes.
- Deliver high-quality solo and group stage performances.
- Prepare and rehearse choreography for live performances.
- Demonstrate strong command of rhythm, expression, posture, movement and traditional Bharatanatyam techniques.
- Work with other dancers, musicians and performers during rehearsals and live events.
- Adapt choreography and performances according to the theme and requirements of each event.
- Participate in rehearsals and performance preparation.
- Maintain a consistently high professional and artistic standard.
- Assist with the preparation and coordination of cultural dance performances where required.
- Represent and promote traditional South Asian performing arts through authentic professional performances.
Skills & Experience Required
- Strong professional background in Bharatanatyam and classical dance.
- Formal dance training or relevant dance qualification preferred.
- Excellent stage presence and live performance ability.
- Strong knowledge of choreography, rhythm, expressions and traditional dance techniques.
- Experience performing or preparing performers for cultural and stage events.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a performance team.
- Strong discipline, reliability, communication and time-management skills.
- Experience in dance teaching, mentoring or choreography is advantageous.
The role particularly suits a professionally trained Bharatanatyam dancer with experience in choreography, cultural events and stage-performance preparation.
