Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented MOT Tester with Class 4 and Class 7 certification to join our dynamic automotive service team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting thorough vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards. Your expertise will help maintain our reputation for quality and reliability, providing customers with confidence in their vehicles’ safety and performance. Duties
- Perform comprehensive MOT testing on a variety of vehicles, including cars and light commercial vehicles, adhering strictly to legal and safety standards.
- Conduct detailed inspections covering brakes, lights, suspension, exhaust emissions, steering, tires, and other critical components.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively to carry out repairs or adjustments identified during inspections.
- Maintain accurate records of all tests performed, including results, repairs needed, and follow-up actions.
- Communicate clearly with customers about vehicle condition, required repairs, and next steps to ensure transparency.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the testing bay and equipment to uphold health and safety standards.
- Support team members by sharing mechanical insights and troubleshooting tips to enhance overall workshop efficiency.

Requirements
- Valid MOT Tester certification with Class 4 and Class 7 accreditation.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and components.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy during inspections.
- Good communication skills to explain technical information clearly to customers.
- Prior experience working in an automotive workshop or testing environment is preferred but not essential; training will be provided for the right candidate.
