Job Description and Your Role at Chatham Waters:
Working under the direction of the General Manager and Deputy Manager responsibilities will include:
· To carry out repairs and maintenance tasks in all areas of the home.· Undertake painting and decorating when required including when rooms are vacated. · Understand and meet statutory and legal requirements such as Food Safety, Health and Safety, COSHH, Fire Safety and the Care Quality Commission’s regulations. · Maintain a safe environment throughout the care home, reporting any health and safety concerns. · Carryout specific maintenance and regular safety checks (including fire) as identified in the maintenance check list, keeping accurate, up to date records of the checks. Reporting any deficiencies to the General Manager and following these up promptly.· Complete audits as required by the General Manager and action findings.· Respect residents at all times, especially their individual right to privacy, dignity and choice, incorporating residents’ needs and requirements into your work routine so that the care home is pleasant to both live and work.· Seek quotes for works and contracts as directed by the General Manager.· Maintain the grounds and garden areas, keeping them in a neat and tidy condition.· To be approachable and interactive with colleagues, contributing to team meetings and helping team members as appropriate. Ensuring that the care home is a friendly and supportive caring environment. · Direct and guide other members of the team in the event of emergencies and be on-hand in the event of an emergency.· To support the Lifestyle team with maintenance-based activities.· Support the team in arranging furniture and equipment for internal events at the home.· Ensure all training for role is undertaken and kept up to date.
Hours and Pay
· Monday to Friday (flexible on occasion)
· 10 am to 5 pm (7 hours a day with 1 hour paid break) 35 hours per week.
