Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Demolition Operative to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely dismantling structures and preparing sites for new development projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in various construction trades to utilise their skills in a dynamic environment. Duties
- Safely demolish designated structures using appropriate tools and techniques
- Remove debris and ensure the site is clear and safe for subsequent construction work
- Operate hand tools and power tools such as sledgehammers, jackhammers, drills, and saws
- Assist with site preparation, including the removal of hazardous materials and waste management
- Support other trades as required, including carpentry, roofing, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical work, and fabrication tasks
- Follow health and safety regulations at all times and report any hazards or incidents promptly
- Assist in the mobilisation and demobilisation of equipment and materials on-site
Experience
- Proven experience in demolition activities within the construction industry
- Skills in carpentry, roofing, construction painting, plumbing, masonry, welding, electrical work or fabrication are desirable
- Competence in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures relevant to demolition sites
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in construction trades are advantageous but not essential
