SE Tuitions is a specialist tuition centre dedicated to helping primary school students achieve their full academic potential and secure places at selective grammar and independent schools.
We are seeking enthusiastic, engaging and committed tutors to teach small groups of Year 3, Year 4 and Year 5 students preparing for the 11+ examinations. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced teachers, tutors, teaching assistants or education professionals who are passionate about helping children succeed.
All classes are delivered in person at our Stanmore centre on weekends and tutors will follow our structured teaching programme and established curriculum.
About the Role
As an 11+ Tutor at SE Tuitions, you will play a key role in developing students' confidence, knowledge and exam techniques across core 11+ subjects.
You will deliver engaging lessons, monitor progress, assess student performance, conduct mock examinations and provide constructive feedback to help students achieve their academic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality lessons to small groups of Year 3, 4 and 5 students.
- Follow the SE Tuitions curriculum, lesson plans and course structure.
- Teach core 11+ topics across Mathematics, Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning .
- Create a positive, engaging and supportive learning environment.
- Mark classwork, homework, assessments and examination papers.
- Conduct and invigilate mock examinations.
- Track and record student progress accurately.
- Identify areas for improvement and provide targeted academic support.
- Provide feedback on student performance and development.
- Support students with exam techniques, time management and confidence building.
- Maintain high standards of behaviour and classroom management.
- Attend staff meetings and training sessions as required.
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety and centre policies are always followed.
Essential Requirements
- Previous teaching or tutoring experience with primary-aged children.
- Strong knowledge of Key Stage 2 Mathematics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage and motivate young learners.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Reliable, professional and punctual.
- Passion for education and helping children achieve their potential.
- Ability to work in person at our Stanmore centre on weekends.
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE or Min Graduation in relevant subject.
- Experience preparing students for:
- 11+ Grammar School Entrance Exams
- Independent School Entrance Exams
- CAT4-style reasoning assessments
- Experience teaching Verbal Reasoning
- Experience working in primary schools.
- Enhanced DBS Certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
