Delamere is the UK's only purpose-built addiction treatment clinic in the UK. Based in Cheshire, we are a multi-disciplinary team of nurses, doctors, therapists and mentors who provide exemplary care to our guests as they grow beyond addiction. Recovery Mentors at Delamere
Recovery Mentorship involves supporting guests as they learn and apply behaviour change techniques taught through our holistic treatment model. Our Mentors bring their own lived experience to life through their caring and compassionate support of our often fragile and vulnerable guests. Mentors are trained in small group facilitation and 121 mentoring sessions; they have a hugely positive impact on guest experience and outcomes.
Responsibilities include:
- Supporting guests through a 28-day residential program of rehabilitation from addiction
- Facilitating psycho-educational sessions, process groups and experiential activities.
- Case working guests via structured, practical 121 mentor sessions
- Escorting guests to off-site activities
- Assisting guests in identifying, building and strengthening 'recovery capital'
- Working as an effective member of a multi-disciplinary team
- Assisting in maintaining the morale of guests (achieved by talking and working with them)
The role calls for:
- High levels of empathy and emotional intelligence
- Being a team player
- Good decision making and common sense
- An appreciation of and understanding of addiction treatment and recovery principles
- Excellent, active listening and communication skills (written, verbal)
- Comfortable with the office 365 suite- Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and comfortable navigating web-based software.
- Experience of working in addiction and lived experience is preferred.
- Experience of working in a social care setting is preferred.
- Experience of presenting to groups and communicating information effectively.
Progression from Trainee Recovery Mentor to Recovery Mentor is dependent on individual development, the successful completion of required training, and a satisfactory probationary review. Subject to this progression, the full-time Recovery Mentor earns £31,000.00 per annum based on a 40-hour working week.
