Kings Monkton School is looking for an enthusiastic, organised and proactive Office Manager to join our school community.
This is an important and varied role at the heart of our school. We are looking for someone who can lead and support our Admin Team while also taking a hands-on approach to ensuring the smooth day-to-day administration of the school.
Working closely with our Senior Leadership Team and colleagues across the school, you will help ensure that our pupils, parents and staff receive an efficient, professional and welcoming administrative service.
The role
As Office Manager, you will lead the school’s Admin Team and have particular responsibility for a number of key areas, including:
- managing and supporting the school Admin Team;
- overseeing pupil attendance and working with our wellbeing team to promote positive attendance;
- coordinating the administration of school reports and supporting our Assessment, Recording and Reporting processes;
- managing the administration of school trips and external visits;
- providing administrative support to our Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Team, including coordinating pupil IDP reviews;
- supporting effective communication with parents and managing our parent portal;
- maintaining accurate pupil information and records on SIMS and other school systems;
- supporting pupil risk assessments and allergy information;
- coordinating school policies and their annual review and publication; and
- supporting the school's emergency procedures and arrangements.
This is not simply a desk-based management position. We are a small, close-knit school and are looking for someone who enjoys being part of school life, is happy to get involved and can balance leading a team with delivering excellent administration themselves.
About you
You will be a confident and highly organised administrator with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will be comfortable managing competing priorities, working accurately with information and data, and building positive relationships with colleagues, pupils and parents.
Previous experience of working within a school or education environment would be an advantage, as would experience of managing or supervising others, but just as important to us is finding someone with the right attitude and approach.
You should be adaptable, flexible, self-motivated and proactive, with a genuine commitment to providing an excellent service. You will need to be confident using ICT and willing to learn the different systems used across the school.
Most importantly, you will share our commitment to creating an inclusive community built upon a happy, innovative and outstanding learning environment, where every pupil is supported to realise their potential.
