Quality Inspector — Job Specification
Role Overview
The Quality Inspector ensures products, materials, and processes meet defined specifications, regulatory requirements, and customer standards. The role performs incoming, in‑process, and final inspections; documents results; identifies nonconformities; and supports corrective and preventive actions to drive continuous improvement.
Availability for standard shifts; overtime or weekends may be required to support production needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct incoming, in‑process, and final inspections using calibrated tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, Laser Scanner, against drawings and specifications.
- Verify conformance of materials and finished goods; accept, reject, or segregate items and initiate nonconformance reports (NCRs).
- Perform visual, dimensional, and functional tests; record inspection results, measurements, and lot traceability in quality systems.
- Monitor production operations for compliance with standards; recommend and follow up on process adjustments.
- Support root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions
- Maintain and handle measurement equipment, ensuring calibration status, proper use, and safe operation.
- Assist with internal and external audits; ensure adherence to company procedures, industry standards, and applicable regulations.
- Communicate quality issues and trends to production, engineering, and quality leadership; escalate critical issues promptly.
- Contribute to training of operators on quality standards, defect recognition, and basic inspection techniques.
- Maintain a safe, clean work environment and comply with EHS policies.
Essential Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1–3 years of experience in quality inspection, quality control, or manufacturing operations.
- Proficiency reading and interpreting engineering drawings, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and technical specifications.
- Hands-on capability with common inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges) and familiarity with electronic/automated systems (e.g., CMM, scanner technology) as applicable.
- Working knowledge of quality systems and documentation (NCRs, lot records, control plans, sampling plans).
- Competence with basic math, measurement conversions, and data entry; working knowledge of MS Office or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management; able to work independently and in teams.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods; bend, reach, and handle parts; lift up to 50 lb (as applicable to role).
- Fine motor skills for precision measurement and part handling.
- Work in manufacturing environment with PPE requirements; exposure to shop-floor noise and material handling.
Pay: From £12.71 per hour
