JOB TITLE: Security Officer
LOCATION: Skelmersdale, WN8
PAY RATE: £13.45 per hour
HOURS: 30 hrs per week Mon -Wed Split shifts
Days 10:30am to 13:30pm then 17:00pm 22:00pm

THE ROLE:
We are seeking a vigilant and dependable Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of our premises, staff, and visitors. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a security presence, conducting patrols, and responding promptly to any incidents.
Responsibilities:
- To complete regular patrols of college and monitor car-parks.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and emergency services when necessary
- Open-up and lock-down of the College Buildings
- Control of access and egress of college
- Check student ID badges and assist students with queries
- Protect property and assets by implementing security measures and protocols
- Respond to emergencies, such as medical incidents or fire alarms, and take appropriate action
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors and addressing their inquiries or concerns
Experience:
- Previous experience of working within an educational environment, preferable
- Good customer service skills
- Knowledge of security operations and procedures
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently
- Strong observation skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- First Aid/CPR certification is a plus
Licence Requirements:
- You must have a current SIA Door Supervisor Licence.
- A CCTV Operator Licence is desirable.
- Possession of a First Aid at Work Certificate and/or Fire Marshal is desirable.
- Enhanced DBS is essential
Job Requirments:
You must be able to provide a checkable 5-year employment history for vetting purposes (this can include full-time education or periods when claiming benefits).
