Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Delivery Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries. This role requires excellent driving skills, organisational ability, and a focus on customer service. The ideal applicant will have previous delivery driver experience and familiarity with flatbed and commercial driving.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate flatbed lorries and commercial vehicles to deliver goods to clients and customers.
- Plan delivery routes effectively to optimise time and fuel efficiency.
- Load and unload items carefully, ensuring the security of cargo during transit.
- Obtain signatures or proof of delivery from recipients as required.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after journeys, reporting any issues promptly.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and fuel consumption.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, health and safety regulations, and company policies throughout each shift.
- Provide excellent customer service by representing the company professionally during all interactions.
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with flatbed or commercial vehicles.
- Demonstrable knowledge of safe driving practices and road safety regulations.
- Experience with route planning and navigation tools is advantageous.
- Familiarity with handling goods securely on flatbeds or specialised vehicles is desirable.
- Valid driving licence suitable for commercial driving duties is essential.
- Previous experience in delivery roles will be considered an asset, highlighting reliability and organisational skills.
