About the Role
Elevate Workforce is recruiting experienced and reliable Residential Support Workers to work across a variety of children’s residential homes on a flexible agency basis.
This is a great opportunity for support workers who want more flexibility, a choice of different care settings and the opportunity to work with a variety of children and young people.
For the right candidates, temporary placements may also lead to permanent employment opportunities with residential care providers.
You will support children and young people who may have experienced trauma, challenging circumstances or behavioural difficulties, helping them feel safe, supported and encouraged within their home environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality care and support to children and young people.
- Create and maintain a safe, positive and nurturing environment.
- Support young people with daily routines, education, appointments and activities.
- Build professional and positive relationships with children and young people.
- Manage challenging behaviour using appropriate de-escalation techniques.
- Complete accurate daily records, handovers and incident reports.
- Follow individual care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.
- Support young people to develop independence and life skills.
- Work effectively alongside permanent staff and management teams.
- Complete day, night, weekend and sleep-in shifts where required.
What We’re Looking For
Applicants should ideally have:
- Previous experience within children’s residential care or a similar support environment.
- A good understanding of safeguarding children and young people.
- Confidence supporting young people who may display challenging behaviour.
- Strong communication and record-keeping skills.
- A professional, reliable and flexible approach.
- The ability to work a range of shifts depending on your availability.
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service is desirable.
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent is desirable but not essential depending on experience.
- A full UK driving licence is desirable due to the location of some residential homes.
