Purpose of job
Act as the Calian UK Ltd focal point for all project management activities throughout the duration of the ACTS Subcontract with RUK and lead implementation of the Subcontractor Statement of Work (SSoW).
Context
The Collective Training Transformation Programme has culminated in the award of the Army Collective Training Servies (ACTS) to OMNIA Training as the Strategic Training Partner (STP). Calian UK Ltd will deliver the Audiences, Actors, Adversaries, Enemies and Specialists Supporting Services as the best in class along with some of the UK’s most innovative defence training organisations for the other services under one powerful mission: to transform the British Army’s training system and create the best-trained Army in the world.

Key Role Requirements
- Manage Calian UK Ltd’s contribution to ACTS.
- Fulfil all Project Management activities related to the services provided.
- Direct Calian UK Ltd personnel responsible for the delivery of A3ES deliverables achieving and where possible exceeding the performance standards mandated.
- Manager Project Costs coherent with Project Revenue.
- Build trust and confidence, through fostering close working relationships, with colleagues in Calian UK Ltd, RUK, its partners and suppliers and military personnel.
- Manage Calian UK Ltd resources against competing priorities.
- Ensure adherence to Calian UK Ltd’s Quality Management Procedures.
- Line Manage personnel as instructed.
- Be prepared to deploy to military training exercise or activities in UK and overseas to support the delivery of A3ES.
Competencies and Experience
- Experience operating in joint or matrixed teams,
- Experience in project management, with a PRINCE2 qualification and ideally an APMP.
- An ability to communicate with military and industry partners.
- A track record delivering focused on outcomes and operational and performance excellence.
- Understand the military individual and collective training regime requirements.
- Being comfortable with short notice requirements and periods of surge activity.
- Be able to generate separate work packages concurrently.
- Understand the training and operational demand for which individuals and Force Elements are being prepared.
- Robust but empathetic, with an ability to work with minimum guidance beyond initial instructions with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with good negotiating and interpersonal skills.
