Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on escalator systems to ensure optimal operation.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues promptly using specialized tools and diagnostic equipment.
- Repair or replace faulty components such as motors, belts, handrails, sensors, and control panels to minimize downtime.
- Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs performed, and system performance logs.
- Collaborate with safety teams to ensure all work complies with local safety regulations and standards.
- Respond swiftly to emergency breakdowns or safety concerns to restore service efficiently.
- Assist in upgrading or installing new escalator systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
Requirements
- Proven experience in escalator or elevator maintenance, repair, or a related field with a strong mechanical background.
- Knowledge of electrical systems, control circuitry, hydraulics, and motorized machinery associated with escalator operation.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to troubleshooting complex issues.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members and report findings clearly.
- Valid technical certification or license relevant to escalator or elevator maintenance (preferred).
- Willingness to work flexible hours including occasional nights or weekends for scheduled maintenance or emergency repairs.
- Work based in London & surrounding areas.
