Job Summary
We are seeking a MOT Tester to join our automotive service team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting vehicle safety inspections in accordance with legal standards, ensuring vehicles meet the required safety and environmental criteria. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive MOT tests on a wide range of vehicles, ensuring compliance with current legislation and safety standards.
- Use specialised diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools to perform inspections efficiently and accurately.
- Identify any defects or issues that may affect vehicle safety or emissions, providing clear reports and recommendations for repairs if necessary.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the testing bay and workshop area.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols during all testing procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment.
- Assist colleagues with vehicle repairs or maintenance tasks when required, including heavy lifting of parts or equipment.
- Keep detailed records of all inspections performed, ensuring documentation is accurate and up-to-date in compliance with legal requirements.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an MOT Tester or in a similar automotive inspection role.
- Mechanical knowledge with an understanding of vehicle systems and components.
- Competence in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment effectively.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling vehicle parts or equipment.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail to ensure thorough inspections.
- Valid MOT Testing licence recognised by the DVSA (Driver & Vehicle Standards Agency).
- Good communication skills to explain inspection results clearly to customers and team members.
- Ability to work efficiently within a busy workshop environment while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.

Pay: £30,000.00-£40,769.22 per year
