Duties
- Inspect vehicles thoroughly using schematics and technical manuals to identify issues accurately
- Perform repairs and maintenance on engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and other mechanical components
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques to execute repairs efficiently
- Read and interpret schematics and mechanical diagrams to troubleshoot complex problems effectively
- Repair or replace faulty parts, ensuring all work complies with safety regulations and quality standards
- Maintain detailed service records, logs, and reports for each vehicle or piece of equipment serviced
Qualifications
- Level 3 in Automotive Engineering
- MOT Tester preferred but not essential
- Proven mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in vehicle or equipment repair
- Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools for troubleshooting issues
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and assembly techniques
- Knowledge of maintenance procedures for various types of vehicles
- Excellent problem-solving skills with an eye for detail to ensure thorough repairs and inspections
