Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join our team at Woolton Village Day Nursery. Start date will be August 2026. The ideal candidate will have a passion for early childhood education and experience working with children in a nursery setting. This role involves supporting the daily activities of the nursery, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for all children, and assisting in their developmental needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the planning and implementation of engaging educational activities tailored to children's developmental stages.
- Supervise and ensure the safety of children during playtime, meals, and other activities.
- Communicate effectively with children, fostering a positive and encouraging atmosphere.
- Support children in their daily routines, including personal care and hygiene practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation within the nursery environment.
- Collaborate with other staff members to manage classroom dynamics and promote teamwork.
- Provide feedback to parents regarding their child's progress and development when necessary.
Skills
- Strong background in early childhood education or related fields is preferred.
- Experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is essential.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, particularly in English.
- Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities while managing groups of children effectively.
- A proactive drive to create a stimulating learning environment for young learners.
- Capability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
