The Darent Wax Company are a privately owned Kent based manufacturer specialising in wax based products, supplying customers across a wide range of industries around the world. Established in 1984, we have built a strong reputation for quality, reliability, and customer service. Due to retirement of the incumbent, we are looking for a highly motivated, and diligent Sales & Logistics Administrator to join our team and support our expanding global operations.
This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with strong administrative skills who enjoys working in a fast paced environment and wants to gain further experience in sales support, logistics, and international trade.
The Role
Reporting to the Sales Director, you will play an important role in supporting the Sales Coordinator and wider business with a variety of sales and logistics administration tasks. You will be involved in customer communications, order processing, shipment coordination, and general administrative support, helping to ensure our customers receive a first class service.
Key Responsibilities
- Fielding incoming calls and emails, responding to enquiries or directing them appropriately.
- Processing customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Supporting the Sales Coordinator with order acknowledgements and confirmations.
- Assisting with the coordination and tracking of product samples.
- Preparing shipping and export documentation.
- Arranging transport and shipment bookings.
- Providing general administrative support.
- Assisting with other reasonable duties as required.
About You
The successful candidate will be:
- Experienced in an administrative role, ideally within a sales, customer service, logistics, manufacturing, or export environment.
- Interested in developing their knowledge and understanding of export and logistics processes.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Capable of managing multiple priorities and meeting deadlines in a busy environment.
- An excellent communicator with exceptional written and verbal English skills, capable of producing accurate professional correspondence and communicating confidently with customers, suppliers, and colleagues.
- Positive, self motivated, and committed to delivering a high standard of work.
- A collaborative team player with a professional and flexible approach.
Desirable Skills & Experience
While not essential, the following would be advantageous:
- Previous experience working within an export, logistics, shipping, or international sales environment.
- Knowledge of export documentation, customs procedures, and international shipping processes.
- Experience using ERP, MRP, CRM, or order management systems.
- Additional language skills, particularly European languages such as French, German, Spanish, or Italian.
- A full, clean UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- Experience liaising with freight forwarders, carriers, and overseas customers.
- Knowledge of Incoterms and international trade procedures.
- Experience working within a manufacturing or industrial business environment.
- Confidence handling customer enquiries and building positive customer relationships.
- A willingness to learn and develop within a growing international business.
