We are the School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment (ADBE) at Nottingham Trent University. We make, create, design and build. We’re planners and problem solvers. We draw lines, and we break boundaries. We are 3,000 students, five departments and one school.
In the School of Architecture, Design and the Built Environment, we stand half way between science and philosophy; and between tradition and disruption. We embrace theoretical rigour and insist on providing hands-on experience for all our students. We celebrate design heritage, and we invite innovation.
We’re a nationally renowned stage for talent in making and design. We investigate the physicality of tools and tech, glass and grass, and bricks and mortar. We also explore the abstract excitement of ideas and creative philosophies.
We’re developing the architects, designers and technologists of tomorrow. Based in the heart of Nottingham inside our Grade II listed, Gothic-Revival-style Arkwright studios, we encourage our students to discover and refine their own design style in environments that reflect modern architectural practice.
