We are seeking a motivated and organised Junior Office Assistant to join our busy Solicitors' practice. This entry level role is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start or develop their career in a professional legal environment.
The successful candidate will provide administrative support across the firm, assisting solicitors and support staff with a variety of office duties while gaining valuable experience within the legal sector.
Key Tasks
· Supporting fee earners and legal support staff with administrative tasks.
· Assisting with the preparation and organisation of legal files.
· Scanning, photocopying, printing, and filing documents.
· Opening and closing client files.
· Client onboarding
· Managing incoming and outgoing post and deliveries.
· Maintaining accurate electronic and paper records.
· Trainee Receptionist role, including welcoming clients and visitors to the office, answering the telephone and preparing meeting rooms for client appointments and meetings.
· Trainee legal secretary role, including typing for Solicitors and fee earners from audio dictation
· Ensuring confidential information is handled securely and in accordance with firm policies.
Skills and Qualifications
· Professional, reliable, and willing to learn.
· Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
· Good communication skills.
· Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Excel.
· Ability to work effectively within a team.
· Previous customer service or administrative experience desirable but not essential.
· An interest in the legal profession.

Location: Kendal
Hours: Full-time 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am - 5pm
Salary: Range £19,747.00 - £23,132.00 per annum (depending on experience)
