AK Electrical is expanding and we're looking for a qualified electrician to join our growing team in Cumbria.
This is a varied role combining general electrical and lighting work with domestic and small scale commercial Solar PV and battery storage installations.
We're not looking for someone who only wants to do the same type of job every day. One day you could be working on an electrical installation or lighting project, and another you could be installing and commissioning a Solar PV and battery storage system.
Solar experience would be a big advantage, but it isn't essential. If you're a strong electrician with the right qualifications, attitude and willingness to learn, we'd still like to hear from you.
The Role
Your work will include:
- General domestic and commercial electrical installations
- Lighting installations and upgrades
- Electrical alterations, upgrades and remedial works
- Fault finding and maintenance
- Inspection, testing and certification
- Domestic Solar PV installations
- Small scale commercial Solar PV installations
- Battery storage installations
- Testing and commissioning new systems
- Completing relevant electrical certification and job documentation
- Working safely and professionally across customer and construction sites
The role will predominantly cover Cumbria and the Lake District, with different projects and types of work throughout the week.
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- Fully qualified electrician - NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
- Inspection & Testing qualification/experience
- Strong understanding of BS 7671
- Experience carrying out general electrical installation work
- Good fault finding ability
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good communication and customer service skills
- High standard of workmanship
- Reliable and organised
- A positive, can do attitude and willingness to learn
Beneficial, but not essential:
- Solar PV & battery qualifications & installation experience
- Experience with domestic and small commercial renewable installations
- ECS/JIB Gold Card
- Knowledge of MCS requirements
