Duties
- Monitor residents throughout the night to ensure their safety and comfort, responding promptly to any needs or emergencies
- Assist residents with personal care tasks such as toileting, mobility support, and medication reminders in accordance with care plans
- Conduct regular checks of the environment to maintain a safe and clean living space for residents
- Document observations, incidents, and care provided accurately using IT systems and care documentation tools
- Communicate effectively with day staff during handovers to ensure seamless continuity of care
- Support residents' emotional well-being through active listening and companionship during overnight hours
- Assist with light housekeeping duties related to residents’ rooms and communal areas as needed
Requirements
- Previous experience working in a care home or home care setting is preferred but not essential; full training will be provided
- Ability to communicate clearly in English and demonstrate excellent communication skills with residents, colleagues, and families
- Basic IT literacy for recording care activities and updating care plans electronically
- Valid driving license is advantageous for supporting transportation needs if required
- Strong interpersonal skills with a caring, respectful approach towards residents of all backgrounds
- Ability to work independently during night shifts while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism
- Flexibility to work night shifts on a regular basis
