The Opportunity
Working out of one of our Croydon Depot (CR0), you will work closely with the Contract Manager, supervisors, operational teams, and clients to assist in the planning, resource allocation, and day-to-day delivery of our Urban Tree Planting contract. This is a diverse, leadership-focused role critical to decision-making and operational success.
Key responsibilities include:
Operational Planning & Delivery: Contribute to daily task planning, resource allocation, work scheduling, and determination of optimal staffing levels.
Quality & Safety Control: Undertake quality inspections to ensure newly planted tree stock is correctly maintained with a high survival rate. Actively monitor and implement the company’s Health & Safety policy.
Client Relations: Meet regularly with multiple client officers to agree on work programmes, discuss technical matters, inspect and certify completed works, and resolve issues.
Team Leadership: Support the recruitment, training, and motivation of staff, ensuring employee records are up to date and a positive, collaborative culture is maintained.
Technology & Systems: Monitor performance using our bespoke Glendale Live system and quickly adapt to various web-based client asset-reporting systems.
Fleet & Asset Management: Evaluate vehicle and machinery requirements, ensuring maintenance is kept in line with manufacturer recommendations and company policies.
Contractual Excellence: Assist with audit preparation and deputise for the Contract Manager or Supervisor during periods of absence.

Proactive Attitude: Strong initiative with a drive to continually improve operational activity, meet deadlines, and deliver a seamless service.
Relationship Builder: The ability to build strong, professional relationships with diverse client bases and work cooperatively with the internal management team.
Tech Savvy: Comfortable with modern technology, with the ability to quickly master and utilize web-based asset and contract management systems.
Industry Knowledge: Practical understanding or experience in tree planting, arboriculture, or wider environmental/green services is highly desirable.
