Housing Officer
Part-time 18.5 hours and Permanent
£18,477 per annum, based on £36,954 FTE
The role:
As a Housing Officer, you will manage a portfolio of properties and deliver excellent housing management services to our customers. You will ensure tenancies are effectively managed and sustained, and will make sure our properties and communal areas meet the highest standards. You’ll investigate concerns, collaborate with customers and external partners and boost customer satisfaction within communities.
We offer hybrid working but there is an expectation that you attend the office at least twice a week, and additionally as needed.

Although not an exhaustive list, key responsibilities include:
- Manage a portfolio of properties, ensuring effective tenancy management and compliance with tenancy agreements, which adhere to regulatory and legal requirements.
- Conduct estate inspections and tenancy audits. Assist with the management of our grounds maintenance and cleaning contract.
- Be available and accessible to customers to provide support and advice regarding their tenancy and home, addressing concerns promptly.
- Identify and act on any health and safety issues for colleagues or customers to maintain a safe environment.
- Have a visible presence in the community, conducting regular estate and communal area inspections to ensure standards are met.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, partner organisations, and community partners to facilitate successful outcomes for customers and enhance the overall resident experience.

For this role we are looking for individuals who have:
- Experience of working in social housing or a similar environment.
- Experience in identifying health and safety issues and taking action to resolve these.
- Case management experience, working with the general public.
- A good knowledge of current best practice in social housing and relevant housing legislation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a variety of audiences.
- Strong problem solving skills.
- Ability to put the customer’s needs at the centre of service provision and a commitment to customer care.
- Ability to work in a team as well as on own initiative.
- Highly organised, empathetic and patient.
The successful candidate must hold a valid driver’s license and a basic DBS check will be obtained upon successful appointment of this role.
