Finance Administrator

About the Role
We are looking for an organised, detail-oriented Finance Administrator to support the day-to-day financial operations of our business. You'll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices and payments, and ensuring finance processes run efficiently. This is a fast-paced role where you'll manage multiple priorities while delivering high standards of accuracy, confidentiality, and customer service.
Key Responsibilities

Process customer invoices, credit notes, and supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner.

Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring payments are received and issued within agreed timescales.

Reconcile bank accounts and maintain accurate financial records.

Record financial transactions, receipts, and expenses within the accounting system.

Support the preparation of monthly financial reports and management information.

Assist with payroll administration and other finance-related activities as required.

Liaise professionally with customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to resolve finance queries.

Maintain accurate filing systems and ensure financial information is kept secure and confidential.

Support compliance with company policies, financial procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Undertake additional administrative and finance duties as required to support the business.
Skills & Experience
Essential
-
Previous experience in a Finance Administrator, Accounts Assistant, Bookkeeper, or similar finance role.

Experience processing invoices, payments, account reconciliations, and maintaining financial records.

Good understanding of accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.

Strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience using accounting software such as Sage or similar systems.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with colleagues, customers, and suppliers.

Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.

Professional, trustworthy, and able to handle confidential information with discretion.

AAT qualification or working towards a finance/accounting qualification would be advantageous but not essential.
Desirable

Experience working within a finance, accounts, or bookkeeping environment.

Knowledge of Sage or other accounting software.

Experience supporting payroll processes.

Understanding of HMRC requirements and financial compliance.

AAT qualification or working towards a finance-related qualification.
